Preparation

3 more days to Danny's and Kevin's departure, if you don't count today. And 5 more days to Kenneth's departure. The three of us are definitely excited about the trip.

We met yesterday night to work on an assignment that P.Robert (as he is called by the Thai students) handed to us. We received an email a few days back, enquiring if we could prepare a sermon each for church. The word "sermon" is usually associated with a long speech. And also associated with difficulty. Difficulty in preparing a sermon, and difficulty in keeping awake during a sermon. This time the second difficulty didn't seem much of a problem. Danny was a little tentative at first, but he did not back out. I was not too thrilled myself. Kenneth and I have done this before, but I still get nervous. Even though it's only 15 minutes including translation time.

We got together at my place. The venue was chosen by the person who was going to help us, Pastor Kon (or Uncle Pak Fook). We definitely learnt from his guidance. We had a rough guide of what we wanted to preach about before we met. After our meeting, our new sermon plans were completely different from the old ones. Pastor Kon told us that three different sermons in one day would not help the Thais receive the message. He made us focus on the flow of our sermons. It made things a little harder, but we gave it our all.
I guess we still have a few more things to prepare. But we'll be ready when it is time. By God's grace.
