Direction
Danny and Kevin are into their second day in Chiang Mai. We are still expecting Kenneth who will arrive tomorrow evening.
We woke up today planning to have a morning jog before meeting P. Robert. But as you know, plans like this tend to get changed. The time to get up dragged from 7am to around 9am. No surprise since we slept quite early this morning. We washed up and headed down to 7-11. Danny got a top-up card for his sim. We then walked to a near-by shop for our breakfast. We were heading back after eating when a woman suddenly ran up to us. She pointed at the soymilk bottle that Danny was carrying and said something. We realized that we had to return the bottles. It was kinda of embarassing for us.
After breakfast, Danny and I went through a book that P. Robert handed to us. It's called Spiritual Disciplines. We reflected on the book until it was time to meet P. Robert.
During our meeting with P. Robert, we went through roughly what we are going to in the next few weeks. P. Robert also said that he wanted to go through the Spiritual Disciplines book with us. And that we would have to facilitate some of the chapters. We're looking forward to these sessions.
After the meeting we went to Payap canteen with Oei, Poi, Titan, Woot, and P. Robert. Then it was outreach time. We went around asking total strangers to come to the zone. The main attraction was the mission-exposure group coming from Japan. We got a few blank stares, but we tried anyway. The leaflets that we were giving out were in Thai.
We got back to the zone. Played some table tennis with Oei and Woot. After table tennis, Danny and Kevin went back to the interns room. We continued reading the Spiritual Discipline book. After that, we headed down to the meeting place of the zone to find Little, Oei, Oan and Poi plaing the card game. It's called phase 10. While they were playing, we sat and watched and tried to learn a little Thai.
Then the six of us went out for dinner. We met Un, Ying, Tai, Nui.
When we got back, we met Eddie. The rest had already left for home. So we accompanied Eddie to Carrefour for his dinner.
Now we're back in the zone. Going to have a time of prayer before we sleep.
