Nippon Jin arrival

The group from Japan has arrived! Time to get busy.

This morning, we went to P. Ruang's house again. He was as hospitable as ever. Preparing good noodles for us to eat, even though we had said that cereal would be enough. We are thankful for the experience that we gain while doing the red book with him and also thankful for his great breakfast.

The red book is a compilation by P. Robert to help potential Christians know more about God. P. Ruang is a Christian. However, P. Robert wants him to go through the red book so that he might be able to share it with others.

Lesson time

Before the meeting with P. Ruang was over, P. Robert received a phone call from P. Gae. She said that the flight that the Japanese were supposed to be on was delayed. Instead of arriving at 11pm, they would arrive at 2pm.

This was a blessing in disguise. This is because we were supposed to have Spiritual disciplines sharing right after the meeting with P. Ruang. We were finding it hard to slot a time in for the sharing. But because of the delay in the flight, we had more than enough time.

We left P. Ruang's house for P. Robert's house. We met Mio and Rumiko there. Mio and Rumiko are from Japan. They didn't follow the group and came in yesterday evening. P. Robert brought us back to the zone.

At the zone, Danny, Kenneth, Kevin and P. Robert started the Spiritual disciplines sharing. Kevin was the one who facilitated. The Spiritual discipline today was prayer. We discussed about prayer and set ourselves a goal to pray for each other.

We spent some time talking to Mio and Rumiko before we went for lunch. We went to the Payap zone canteen and passed out fliers inviting people to come to the zone. The Payap canteen has always been a place for outreach for the Payap zone.

Kenneth, Kevin and some of the Thais headed to the airport after lunch. We waited awhile before we met the Japanese.

When we got back to the zone, there was much fellowship. The bustle of activity was a nice change.

We had cell group in the evening. Titan was the MC. Kevin led an ice-breaker. Wacko. And we got to know each others name quickly. Kenneth and Woot were in-charge of the songs. We had a good time praising the Lord. We had good lessons by P. Robert and Eddie (farang). The lessons were translated from English to Thai and Japanese. It was an interesting experience.

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 04, 2006

We started the day doing our Spiritual disciplines sharing with P. Robert. Today's sharing was on meditation. We realised the importance of meditation. Not just emptying yourself but also filling ourselves with the Holy Spirit. Our challenge was to read a scripture verse and meditate on it.

After the sharing, we were brought the best chicken rice stall in Chiang Mai, or so Titan says. Titan has been a blessing to us and our tastebuds. We are just thankful for the good food he's introduced us to.

We spent the rest of our day fellowshiping with the Thais at the zone. We went to Carrefour for dinner. And we had Swensen's earthquake for supper.
